Los Angeles-based artist Amy Shawley creates her visual language through painting, illustration, and photography.  Inspired by nature, poetry, memory, history and cycles of growth and decay, she presents her viewers with figurative images designed to tell a story.  She is primarily self-taught as an artist and has been exhibiting her work professionally since 2004, in both solo and group shows in New York, LA, Minneapolis and Berlin.

Amy Shawley received a BA in Art History from Boston University in 2003, and runs her own Art Instruction business.

In 2008, Shawley was selected and trained by Golden Artist Colors for their Working Artist Program.  She teaches out of her art studio and offers Demonstrations and Hands-on Workshops to Art Groups, Retailers, Colleges and Universities all around Southern California.

Amy currently resides in Downtown Los Angeles.
